I went to Crystal Mountain about a month or two ago with my boss Brian. I hadn't taken photos in awhile. Some of these are a bit crooked and stuff, because I wasn't trying very hard to take photos until later on in the day.

But still, in this set in particular I was really trying to capture some of the Washington textures and natural colors of the area. I would really love some feedback on these if at all possible, what you like best, what you think would help, what you would buy if I sold these as prints, etc.

So if you have some time, please let me know of these things!

Photographs from Mt. Rainier last week.

Still can't believe that I only have to drive an hour and a half to stand right on this thing.

Here's the nearly the whole deal. I wasn't able to line the pics up properly because I was being rushed by my family to hurry up. So yeah..it doesn't match exactly at all, but it's close enough. The volcano at this point is about 8,000 feet higher than where we stood.

One of the many waterfalls on the way up. This one is probably about 100 feet tall.

Another waterfall. This one was probably like 50 feet tall from this point. but it went up about at least 50 more feet between the rocks before it cascades down beneath the road.

If you can take your eyes off of Mt. Rainier for even a second to actually look around, this is the impressive stuff you will see all around you.

As I explained in my daily journal, I adjusted the contrast on these a bit and in doing so made them look a bit dark when viewing the photos on a regular monitor. On a flat screen monitor however, they look fine. I am too lazy to redo them right now, so I'm sorry if the quality is a bit dark and blurred because of your screen's resolution.

I haven't posted photos in a long time, because I have been so busy with work. Once again, these photos lean on the more natural side of things, because I am still so in love with my new atmosphere. Cascades Aplenty

I took these photos while wandering about in the Cascade Mountains last weekend.

Enjoy and whatnot.

Just to show how many mountains stretched in the distance of the horizon.

A pic from within the forest that actually came out CLEAR. You have no idea how hard it is to get the lighting right in forests as thick and dense and green as the ones in Washington.

The gorgeous sunset, seen here through a car window, so apologies for the quality.

Living here, with all of this beauty around me in any direction I can turn, tears well up in my eyes nearly every day just looking at the horizon.

A hazy photo of the Olympic Mountains. These are my personal favorite mountains that are out every day.

These are some of the most interesting sunset photos I have taken yet, I think. It was the coolest sunset ever.

Just so everyone knows, I think I have found a starting point in terms of selling my prints. Thanks to some help from askani, I think I have some ideas for pricing. Hopefully they won't be a problem for anyone.

With that in mind, if anyone wants prints, let me know which ones. With exception for a few from 2004 and early 2005 (during which I lost all my large versions of the images), I can do any image you would like. If you remember one, but can't find a link to it, just describe it to me and I am sure I can russle it up out of the 6,000 or so I have saved on the external harddrive ;)

Also, I have a fun batch coming up, so you may be interested in those. I'll probably post them tomorrow.

Photos of all the wonderful animals at the Bergen County Zoological Park at Van Saun Park. We went there yesterday and had a marvelous time and saw many beautiful animals that allowed me to take some great shots of them. Iguanas hugging turtles, cows scratching itches along fences, monekys swinging, bald eagles squawking...lots of other things.

Okay I am putting up a total of 4 sets of photos now, one set for each category in the 2006 Travel Photo Contest. This time I need everyone's help! Please tell me which 2 photos you definitely feel I should submit from each of these sets. I really need to narrow it down this time. If you think any of these photos would be better in another category, then just let me know.

The categories are as follows:

I personally feel very strongly that this is some of the best work I have snapped to date.

They were all taken on Monday in and around Central Park. Some are certainly better than others. I tried this time to take a more mature perspective on things. I really want to win that photo contest.

SO PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR THOUGHTS. This is very important that you look at the photos in this post! I am really curious, because tomorrow I am putting up several polls (idea thanks to Meisje) to decide what photos to submit to the contest. I am terrified and can use your help.

The sunset today. It looks like I used some sort of sepia or contrast on the image, but I swear this is 100% untouched, shy of resizing. The color was so astounding, it's the reason why I took this shot.
